Centre Notifies Appointment of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh HC

Today The Minister of Law and Justice notified the Appointment of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur Bombay HC (PHC: JKL HC) as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The Union Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal informed about this development on his official twitter handle.

On 5th July the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the name of Justice Dhiraj Singh for appointment as Chief Justice of Andhra PradeshHigh Court.

Now the Union Government has accepted this recommendation. 

On 19th July the Centre notified the appointment of Chief Justices in four High Courts namely, Kerala, Gujarat, Telangana and Orissa High Court.

About Justice Dhiraj Singh

Born on 25th April 1964, Justice Singh was Enrolled as an Advocate on 18th October 1989 with the Bar Council of Delhi, and subsequently with the Bar Council of Jammu and Kashmir.

He was designated as Senior Advocate in 2011 and later appointed as Permanent Judge of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on 8th March 2013.

Justice Singh was transferred as a Judge, High Court of Judicature at Bombay on 10th June 2022.
