The Ministry of Law and Justice has officially announced the appointment of nine Additional Judges to the Calcutta High Court for a fresh term of one year. The notification, released today, confirms the appointment of these Additional Judges for a fresh term of one year, commencing from August 31, 2024.

3. Shri Justice Prasenjit Biswas, Additional Judge
4. Shri Justice Uday Kumar, Additional Judge
5. Shri Justice Ajay Kumar Gupta, Additional Judge
6. Shri Justice Supratim Bhattacharya, Additional Judge
7. Shri Justice Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, Additional Judge
8. Shri Justice Apurba Sinha Ray, Additional Judge
9. Shri Justice Md. Shabbar Rashidi, Additional Judge
The Supreme Court collegium in its meeting held on 25 July 2024 refused to appoint nine additional Judges as permanent judges of Calcutta High Court and recommended for a fresh term of one year.
Accepting the recommendation the Government has notified the appointment of Additional Judges as for a fresh term of one year.
