The Bar Council of India has further extended the last date for submission of the details of all practicing lawyers of the Country until 31 December 2020.
E-Committee of the Supreme Court has sought details of all the lawyers practicing in India through Bar Council of India.
This extension has come on the requests of various Bar Associations of India.
The Bar Council of India has requested all the Advocates, to submit their details through their respective Bar Associations, with who they are registered.
It has been clarified that there is no requirement to send the details on letterhead or append signatures to it. Lawyers have to submit the details to the respective Bar Association, which shall send it to the Bar Council in the Excel sheet.
BCI has stressed upon the fact that the scheme, for which the information is being sought, is for the benefit of the lawyers only.
The E-committee of Supreme Court is preparing a database of practising lawyers for giving training of E-filing, E-Courts, virtual hearing etc.
BCI has also clarified that there shall no further extension of time and those advocates, who fail to submit the required information in the given time, shall be deemed to be Non-Practicing Lawyers.
