Allahabad High Court Announces Official Diwali Holidays from October 29 to November 3

The Allahabad High Court will commence its Diwali break from this Saturday, as the court administration declared Monday, October 28th as an official holiday. Court proceedings are set to resume on November 4th after the conclusion of the festive period.

Typically, the official Diwali holidays were scheduled from October 29th to November 3rd. However, due to the weekend preceding these dates—October 26th being a Saturday and October 27th a Sunday—lawyers and litigants faced challenges in traveling to their native places for only a short period between court working days. This prompted the administration to extend the break by including Monday, October 28th in the holiday period, thus providing a continuous stretch of off days and addressing the concerns of court attendees. The revised schedule is intended to alleviate the logistical difficulties faced by advocates and parties involved in court proceedings, ensuring everyone can enjoy the festive season without interruptions.
