The Central Government has notified the appointment of 14 judicial officers as Judges and Additional Judges of the Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Jharkhand and Karnataka High Courts.
Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the appointments on September 19, stating that the President had made the appointments in exercise of powers conferred by the Constitution after consultation with the Chief Justice of India.
The Supreme Court Collegium had considered the appointments at its meeting held on September 10, 2026.
Delhi High Court
Seven judicial officers have been appointed to the Delhi High Court.
Appointed as Judges:
- Nivedita Anil Sharma
- Nisha Sahay Saxena
- Sanjay Sharma
Appointed as Additional Judges:
- Bharat Parashar
- Dr. (Smt.) Aditi Choudhary
- Dinesh Bhatt
- Arun Bhardwaj
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended eight judicial officers for appointment to the Delhi High Court on September 10. The recommendation included Gurvinder Pal Singh, whose name does not figure in the latest appointment list.
Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court
Appointed as Judge:
- Yash Paul Bourney
The Collegium had recommended his appointment on September 10.
Jharkhand High Court
Appointed as Judges:
- Manoj Prasad
- Akhil Kumar
- Ram Sharma
All three judicial officers had been recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium at its September 10 meeting.
Karnataka High Court
Appointed as Additional Judges:
- Usharani
- K.S. Bharath Kumar
- Nerale V. Bhavani
The Supreme Court Collegium had also recommended these three judicial officers for elevation to the Karnataka High Court on September 10.
The latest appointments cover 14 judicial officers across the four High Courts.
