The High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, witnessed a solemn and dignified oath-taking ceremony marking the assumption of office by Hon’ble Shri Justice Santosh Sharma, Hon’ble Smt. Justice Sushma Sawant and Hon’ble Shri Justice Sudhir Kumar, who have been elevated and appointed as Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.
The oath of office was administered by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, at a ceremony held at the High Court premises in Bilaspur.
The ceremony was attended by the Hon’ble Judges of the High Court, the Registrar General and officers of the Registry, officers of the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy and Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Senior members of the Bar, Advocates and other members of the Judicial fraternity.
Advocate General and other distinguished speakers extended their warmest wishes and congratulations to the newly appointed Hon’ble Judges. They appreciated and acknowledged their distinguished Judicial service, valuable contributions and exemplary work in the discharge of their Judicial responsibilities, and expressed confidence that they would continue to uphold the highest standards of Justice, integrity and Judicial excellence in their new roles.
Speaking on the occasion, the newly appointed Judges expressed their gratitude for the confidence reposed in them and for the warm welcome extended by the High Court fraternity. They acknowledged the responsibility and privilege associated with serving as Judges of the High Court and affirmed that they would discharge their constitutional and judicial responsibilities with utmost sincerity, integrity, impartiality, independence and dedication to the cause of Justice.
The newly appointed Judges reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the Constitution of India, the rule of law and the principles of natural justice, while ensuring that the judicial process remains fair, transparent, accessible and responsive to the needs of litigants.
In the past few days, the strength of the Judges of the High Court had reduced due to the superannuation of certain Hon’ble Judges. With the assumption of office by these three newly appointed Hon’ble Judges, the total strength of the Judges of the High Court has now increased to 13.
