High Court of Chhattisgarh Achieves Significant Reduction in Case Pendency in 2025

Bilaspur, December 31, 2025: The High Court of Chhattisgarh has achieved commendable progress in the disposal of cases during the calendar year 2025, reflecting its unwavering commitment to the cause of timely, efficient, and accessible Justice.

As on 01 January 2025, the total pendency of  cases stood at 84,305. During the period from 01 January 2025 to 31 December 2025, a total number of  55,416 cases were instituted, while 64,054 cases were disposed of by the Courts. Consequently, the closing pendency as on 31 December 2025 was brought down to 75,667 cases, registering a net reduction of 8,638 cases, which translates into a 10.25% decline in pendency. The disposal rate in relation to institution during the year stood at an impressive 115.59%.

This significant achievement stands as a testament to the visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and steadfast commitment of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, whose guidance has consistently emphasized Judicial efficiency, accountability and institutional excellence. Under His Lordship’s farsighted guidance, the institution has witnessed a sustained focus on strengthening Judicial efficiency, enhancing accountability, and fostering institutional excellence.
