20th July, 2025: In a significant step towards strengthening judicial infrastructure and ensuring enhanced access to justice, the newly constructed Civil Court Building at Bilha, District Bilaspur (C.G.) was inaugurated on Sunday, 20th July 2025. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Hon’ble the Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, who inaugurated the building and delivered the keynote address.

In his keynote address, Hon’ble the Chief Justice highlighted the crucial role of judicial infrastructure in delivering timely and effective justice. He expressed his pleasure on acknowledging that Bilha has been honoured with the National Cleanliness Award by the Hon’ble President of India, noting that such national recognition is a matter of great pride for the State.
He further stated that this court building, in terms of its infrastructure, maintenance, and cleanliness , sets a benchmark for all district courts across Chhattisgarh. His Lordship noted that the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India is closely monitoring the progress of judicial infrastructure and the provision of modern amenities in District Courts.

The Chief Justice also emphasized that all essential facilities, including clean toilets, safe drinking water, and basic medical support are now being made available across District Courts. He called upon all judicial officers to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication, and to ensure the prompt delivery of justice to all litigants who approach the courts seeking redressal.
The event was dignified by the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge for District Bilaspur , Hon’ble Mr. Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arvind kumar Verma.
Also present were Shri Praful Bharat ,Advocate General , Registrar General and Officers of the Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur, Judicial Officers of Bilaspur Judgeship, Commissioner and IG Bilaspur, District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Office-bearers of High Court Bar Association, District Bar Association Bilaspur, Bar Association Bilha and Court personnel from Bilaspur Judgeship , citizens and Members of print and electronic media.
A welcome address was delivered by Shri Sirajuddin Qureshi, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur, who underscored the importance of the new facility in strengthening local judicial delivery.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Vijendra Sonwani , Chief Judicial Magistrate , Bilaspur.
This newly constructed court complex is a part of the Chhattisgarh judiciary’s continuous efforts to modernize judicial infrastructure, with a focus on accessibility, efficiency, and user-friendly facilities. The building is equipped with modern amenities to cater to the evolving needs of judicial administration and the public.
