Bomb Threat Sent to Chhattisgarh High Court; Security Agencies Launch Emergency Response

A bomb threat email received by the Chhattisgarh High Court on Monday afternoon triggered a high-level security alert and an immediate response from law enforcement agencies. The threat, delivered via email at 4:31 PM IST, claimed the presence of explosive devices within the High Court and CBI Court premises and demanded complete evacuation by 6:45 PM.

The email, which was sent from the address abdul abdia@outlook.com to the court’s official communication channel, contained references to multiple sensitive issues, including the execution of Ajmal Kasab and the detention of certain individuals. It threatened to carry out what it called a “holy mission” using “Ammonium Sulfur-based IEDs” reportedly planted within the court premises.

The email claimed affiliation with a group calling itself “Madras Tigers for Ajmal Kasab” and warned of a “twinning IED mechanism,” involving human suicide bombers activating devices embedded with RFID technology. It also mentioned a specific time by which the court should be evacuated to avoid mass casualties, although it stated that the goal was “only property damage.”

The message made several political and communal references, including names of political figures and alleged connections to international events and groups.

The premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure and a full-scale search operation was launched. Sniffer dogs and bomb detection equipment were deployed across the campus.
