R G Kar Rape-Murder Case: Kolkata Court Sentences Sanjoy Roy to Life Imprisonment

In a solemn verdict delivered on Monday at the Sealdah court, Sanjoy Roy was sentenced to life imprisonment until death for the rape and murder of a doctor at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital. In addition to the life term, the court imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Roy, who maintained his innocence throughout the trial.
