In a significant development, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has instructed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to present the original records pertaining to a student’s NEET examination results. The directive comes after Aayushi Patel, the petitioner, alleged discrepancies in the handling of her results, including a torn OMR sheet.
Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan of the vacation bench issued the order during a hearing on Wednesday, following Patel’s writ petition. The court has scheduled the next session for June 18 to further address the matter.
Patel’s petition highlights a serious accusation against the NTA, claiming that her OMR sheet was mishandled and that her examination results have not been declared as a result. In an unexpected twist, she stated that despite her OMR sheet being intact, the NTA informed her via a communication that her result would be withheld due to the sheet being found torn.
In response to these allegations, the NTA defended its position by presenting the original OMR sheet, scorecard, and attendance sheet of Patel. The agency expressed confusion over the ongoing issues, particularly why Patel continued to raise concerns through emails.

During the proceedings, a critical discrepancy was noted by the court—the application number listed on Patel’s OMR sheet did not match the one provided in her emails. This inconsistency has led to the court’s decision to require both parties to submit the original documents for examination at the next hearing.
