SP Leader Azam Khan Convicted for Forcibly Vacating House in Rampur

On Wednesday, a court in Rampur convicted Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan for forcibly vacating a house and assaulting the owner in a case that dates back eight years. The Special MP/MLA court, which handles cases involving legislators, found Khan guilty, as confirmed by his lawyer Vinod Sharma.

The incident, reported in December 2016, involved Khan and retired Circle Officer Barkat Ali allegedly breaking into the home of Abrar, causing property damage and physically assaulting him to force him to vacate the property.

While the court has confirmed Khan’s conviction, the sentence will be pronounced at a later date. Khan, who appeared before the court via video conferencing, is currently incarcerated in the Sitapur jail on separate charges.
