Delhi High Court Introduces Free Wi-Fi to Enhance Access to Legal Resources

The Delhi High Court launched a free Wi-Fi facility on its premises on Wednesday, providing advocates, litigants, and the general public with seamless access to legal resources, case information, and other crucial data. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize the judicial infrastructure, aiming to boost the efficiency and user experience within the court’s environment.

The OTP-based Wi-Fi service, which is now available in ‘A’ Block, ‘B’ Block, ‘C’ Block, the Extension Block, the Mediation Centre, and the Lawyers’ Cafeteria, was inaugurated by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan in the presence of Justice Rajiv Shakdher and other esteemed members of the judiciary, including Justices Sanjeev Sachdeva, Sanjeev Narula, Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Swarana Kanta Sharma, and Girish Kathpalia.

In addition to the Wi-Fi facility, the event also marked the launch of several other significant projects, such as a new website for the high court and a virtual tour of the court premises. The virtual tour, available online, allows viewers to explore the court complex through videos, still images, or 360-degree views, providing a detailed glimpse into the amenities and layout of the court.

Justice Manmohan highlighted the unique nature of the Delhi High Court’s administration, emphasizing its role as a self-regulating institution led by its judges. “Our court sets trends and acts as a beacon for judicial reforms,” he noted, underscoring the collaborative effort of the various committees composed of judges that manage different functions within the court. This series of initiatives aims to improve accessibility and transparency, making the Delhi High Court more approachable not only for legal professionals but also for the public.
