In a bizarre incident, a woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra sought divorce from her husband after he failed to get her a ₹5 packet of Kurkure. The woman had a daily habit of eating Kurkure, a junk snack, which often led to disputes at home. One day, when her husband forgot to bring the Kurkure, she became so angry that she reportedly left their home and returned to her parents’ house.
A few days later, she approached the police seeking a divorce. The couple, who tied the knot last year, appeared to have a smooth relationship in the initial months. However, the husband expressed concern over his wife’s increasing addiction to the junk Kurkure. In contrast, the wife claimed that she went to her parents’ house because her husband used to beat her, as per the report.
Meanwhile, in other news, on May 13, a woman staff member at the Kashi toll plaza in the Paratpur area on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway sustained serious injuries after being hit and run over by a car driver, who fled the scene. A CCTV video shows the driver talking to the woman before abruptly accelerating, causing her to fall on the bonnet of the vehicle and slide off as it sped away.
A complaint has been filed, and the police are investigating, including reviewing the CCTV footage from the toll booth to identify the culprit.
