In an unusual turn of events, BJP National Spokesperson and Senior Advocate Gaurav Bhatia was assaulted by lawyers during his visit to the district court in Greater Noida for a case hearing. Being a lawyer himself, Bhatia’s presence at the court amidst an ongoing strike led to a heated exchange with the local lawyers, escalating tensions within the premises.
The confrontation reportedly reached a peak, resulting in a significant commotion. The police were promptly called to the scene, ensuring Bhatia’s safe exit under strict security measures, after which he departed for Delhi. Surajpur Kotwali’s in-charge, Pushpraj Singh, remarked on the incident stating that the altercation stemmed from the ongoing strike in the court, adding that no formal complaints have been filed yet by any party involved.
The lawyers’ strike at the Gautam Buddha Nagar district court in Greater Noida was declared in protest against an FIR filed by the police against the father of a lawyer over a certain case, fueling discontent among the legal practitioners. Reports suggest that Bhatia was at the court to advocate in a case related to YouTuber Elvish Yadav.
