In a compassionate move, the Rouse Avenue Court has allowed jailed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Minister Manish Sisodia the right to meet his ailing wife once a week on custody parole. This decision came after Sisodia, who has been in custody since February 2023 due to his alleged involvement in the liquor policy scam, filed an application requesting to see his wife, who has been battling multiple sclerosis for two decades.
Sisodia’s initial request was to have the opportunity to visit his wife twice a week. However, the court has granted him permission for a weekly visit. The details of these visits, such as the duration and specific conditions, remain under the court’s discretion, focusing on the well-being of Sisodia’s wife while ensuring compliance with legal and security protocols.
Manish Sisodia’s legal troubles stem from allegations related to the liquor policy scam, leading to his arrest and subsequent denial of bail. The Supreme Court recently turned down his bail plea, citing a significant money trail linked to the case, which has added a layer of complexity to his legal defence.
