Woman moves Allahabad HC Seeking Permission to Donate Part of her Liver to Father-in-Law- Know More

Recently, the Allahabad High Court at Lucknow directed a medical examination of a woman who wished to donate a part of her liver to her father-in-law who is suffering from liver cirrhosis.

The woman moved the High Court through Advocate Shreya Chaudhary after the Authorization Committee at the District Level rejected her request to donate her liver.

At the outset, the Bench of Justices Attau Rahman Masoodi and Narendra Kumar Johari asked the woman to appear before them through virtual mode so that they could ascertain the details regarding the donation.

After interacting with the woman, the court noted that even though she was uneducated, her wish to donate a part of her liver is due to her love and affection towards her family and not due to pressure or for any monetary gains.
