Whether Court’s Permission Needed to Prosecute a Person For Disclosing Identity of a Child Victim? SC Delivers Split Verdict

On Monday, the Supreme Court delivered a split ruling in the issue that whether a person who publishes the identity of a child victim who suffered sexual abuse could be prosecuted in absence of the Magistrate’s order. In this case, the split decision was given by the Bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and JK Maheshwari.
