In a surprising move, Uttar Pradesh’s Additional Advocate General (AAG), Ardhendumauli Kumar Prasad, tendered his resignation on Tuesday. Addressing his resignation to the Principal Secretary (Law) & Legal Remembrancer of the UP Government, Prasad, a seasoned advocate, attributed his departure to personal circumstances.
In his resignation letter, Prasad expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state government, describing his tenure as both an honor and a significant learning experience.
“It has been a privilege and honor to defend the State Government, and it has been a great learning process for me. However, due to personal reasons, I am unable to continue and hence resigning as Additional Advocate General for the State of Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect,” he wrote.
His decision marks the end of his tenure that began on November 2, 2021, when he was appointed alongside colleagues Ravendra Kumar and Ajay Aggarwal.
Prior to his role as AAG, Prasad contributed his legal expertise to the State of Uttar Pradesh as a standing counsel in the Supreme Court.
