Supreme Court Round-Up for February 23

Important cases heard in the Supreme Court on Thursday, February 23:

* SC ordered grant of interim bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera till February 28 in a case related to his alleged objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which the Assam Police arrested him after having him deplaned at the Delhi airport amid chaotic scenes.

* SC upheld a Madras High Court order allowing K Palaniswami to continue as interim general secretary of the AIADMK, establishing his position as the single, supreme leader of the party.

* Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud announced launch of ‘neutral citations’ which would ensure a uniform pattern of citing the decisions of the Supreme Court.
