A Supreme Court advocate, Vineet Jindal, has escalated concerns about a reality show by filing a complaint with Delhi’s Cyber Police against prominent YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and stand-up comedian Samay Raina. The show in question, ‘India’s Got Latent’, is under scrutiny for what the lawyer describes as “vulgar references to close family relationships.”
Advocate Jindal has also appealed to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to consider banning the program, criticizing its content for allegedly degrading Indian cultural values. The specific episode that triggered this legal action featured a provocative question by Allahbadia, which Jindal claims undermines family values and includes abusive language.
The legal complaint leverages Sections 294 and 286 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertain to obscene acts in public, and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act, which addresses the transmission of sexually explicit material online. Jindal argues that these segments of the show not only violate these legal provisions but also pose a broader threat to societal norms.

The accused include not only Allahbadia and Raina but also other participants and influencers associated with the digital broadcast of the controversial content. A similar complaint had been lodged earlier in Mumbai against the show’s organizers and participants, including social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, highlighting a recurring pattern of grievances with the content’s nature.
