The Supreme Court of India today announced the results of the Advocates-on-Record (AoR) Examination 2024. The examination, known for its rigorous standards, saw hundreds of aspiring advocates vying for the prestigious AoR designation, which empowers them to file and argue cases independently in the apex court.
A total of 300+ candidates successfully passed the examination, including notable names such as Mr. Debapriyo Bhattacharya, Ms. S. Lakshmi Iyer, and Mr. Shubhankar. Their achievement reflects not only their legal acumen but also their commitment to the highest standards of the legal profession.
The examination tests candidates on their proficiency in the Supreme Court’s practices and procedures, substantive law, and drafting skills. Successful candidates are officially recognized as AoRs, a distinction that sets them apart in India’s legal community.
Additionally, the Supreme Court provided a list of candidates eligible to reappear under Regulation 11(i) for specific papers. These candidates demonstrated potential but will need to improve in certain areas to secure the designation in subsequent attempts.
