New Delhi: The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on August 19, 2025, has approved the proposals for the appointment of fourteen advocates as Judges of the High Court of Bombay. The list of recommended advocates includes one woman, Mrs. Vaishali Nimbajirao Patil-Jadhav.
Collegium’s Decision
The decision was announced through two separate statements published by the Supreme Court. The Collegium found the following fourteen advocates suitable for elevation to the bench of the Bombay High Court:
- Shri Nandesh Shankarrao Deshpande
- Shri Amit Satyavan Jamsandekar
- Shri Ashish Sahadev Chavan
- Mrs. Vaishali Nimbajirao Patil-Jadhav
- Shri Abasaheb Dharmaji Shinde
- Shri Farhan Parvez Dubash
- Shri Siddheshwar Sundarrao Thombre
- Shri Mehroz Ashraf Khan Pathan
- Shri Ranjitsinha Raja Bhonsale
- Shri Sandesh Dadasaheb Patil
- Shri Shreeram Vinayak Shirsat
- Shri Hiten Shamrao Venegavkar
- Shri Rajnish Ratnakar Vyas
- Shri Raj Damodar Wakode
The recommendations have been forwarded to the Central Government for the next stage of the appointment process, which includes clearance from the Intelligence Bureau and the formal appointment by the President of India.
