On 3 August 2023, the Collegium proposed the transfer of Mr Justice Narendar G, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, to the High Court of Orissa, for better administration of justice.

In terms of the Memorandum of Procedure, we have consulted the Judges of the Supreme Court who being conversant with the affairs of the High Court of Karnataka are in a position to offer views on the proposed transfer. We have also consulted the Chief Justices of the High Court of Karnataka and High Court of Orissa. Mr Justice Narendar G has accepted the proposal for his transfer.

He has, however, by a representation dated 6 August 2023 requested for his retention at Bangalore for a period of 3-4 months and has further requested for his transfer to neighbouring States i.e. Telangana, Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh.

We have carefully gone through the request made by Mr Justice Narendar G. The Collegium, resolves to recommend that he be 2 transferred to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh instead of the High Court of Orissa, as proposed on 3 August 2023.
