SC Collegium Recommends Transfer of 2 Judges of Andhra Pradesh High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium’s decision on transfer of High Court Judges is out.

The Collegium led by CJI DY Chandrachud has recommended transfer of 2 Judges of Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana has been recommended for transfer to Madhya Pradesh High Court.[Read Download Recommendation]
The Collegium noted:

By a letter dated 7 August 2023 Mr Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana has requested a reconsideration of the proposal for his transfer and in the alternative has sought transfer to the High Court of Karnataka. 

We have considered the requests made by Mr Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana. The Collegium does not find any merit in the requests made by him. The Collegium, therefore, resolves to reiterate its recommendation dated 3 August 2023 to transfer him to the High Court of Madhya Pradesh.

Justice C Manavendranath Roy, has been recommended for transfer to Gujarat High Court. [Read Recommendation]

The Collegium noted:

By a representation dated 7 August 2023, Mr Justice C Manavendranath Roy has requested a reconsideration of the proposal for his transfer and in the alternative, has sought transfer to the High Court for the State of Telangana. We have considered the requests made by Mr Justice C Manavendranath Roy. 

The Collegium does not find any merit in the requests made by him. The Collegium, therefore, resolves to reiterate its recommendation dated 3 August 2023 to transfer him to the High Court of Gujarat.
