The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra, a judge of the Orissa High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
The recommendation was made by the Collegium at its meeting held on August 6, 2026.
According to the Collegium statement, Justice Mohapatra has been recommended for the position in view of the retirement of the incumbent Chief Justice on September 4, 2026.
Justice Mohapatra is presently serving as a judge of the Orissa High Court. If appointed, he will take over as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court following the retirement of the incumbent Chief Justice.
