In a historic development, the Rajya Sabha unanimously passed the Constitution (128th Amendment) Bill, 2023, commonly known as the Women’s Reservation Bill, on Thursday. The bill aims to reserve one-third of the seats in parliament and State legislative assemblies for women. The bill was passed unanimously by the 214 members who were present and voting.
