Rajasthan HC Refuses to Entertain PIL Seeking Ban on Political Parties From Visiting Religious Places During Elections

The division bench of Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Sandeep Mehta of Rajasthan High Court dismissed a public interest litigation that sought court orders prohibiting candidates from visiting religious sites during election campaigns.  The petitioner requested that directions be issued to all political parties and candidates contesting elections not to use caste or religion
