Rahul Gandhi Summoned to Court for Defamation Case on July 26

In a recent development, the MP-MLA court in Sultanpur has directed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to appear in person on July 26 regarding a defamation case linked to his comments about Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The case, initiated by BJP leader Vijay Mishra, stems from remarks Mr. Gandhi allegedly made in 2018.

Previously scheduled to attend a hearing today, Mr. Gandhi was unable to appear due to his commitments in the ongoing parliament session where he serves as the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha.

During today’s proceedings, Mr. Gandhi’s attorney, Kashi Prasad Shukla, requested a new hearing date. Judge Shubham Verma, accommodating the request, set the date for Mr. Gandhi’s personal appearance later this month.
