Ayazuddin Siddiqui, the elder brother of renowned Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has been arrested in Budhana town of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, in a cheating case, local police officials reported on Thursday.
Anand Dev Mishra, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Budhana, stated, “Ayazuddin Siddiqui was arrested on Tuesday and was sent to jail the same day. His arrest is linked to a month-old cheating case registered against him.” According to the complaint, Ayazuddin allegedly submitted forged orders from the district magistrate’s (DM) court to the Consolidation Department in December 2023. A subsequent inquiry confirmed these allegations.
The formal complaint leading to the arrest was lodged by Rajkumar, a reader in the DM’s office. Ayazuddin Siddiqui faces charges under sections 420 (cheating) and 467 (forgery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
