In a recent judgment delivered by the Single Judge Bench of Justice Subhash Vidyarthi of the Allahabad High Court at Lucknow the conviction of Banwari Lal Kanchhal, a traders’ leader, has been stayed pending the outcome of his Criminal appeal. While staying the conviction the Court considered various important legal issues touching the criminal jurisprudence.
