A special MP-MLA court here turned down the bail plea of gangster-turned-politician Mukhar Ansari’s MLA son Abbas Ansari in connection with an arms licence case on Monday.
Passing the order, special judge Harvansh Narayan said the offences levelled against the applicant were serious in nature and he was not entitled to bail at this stage.
The then Mahanagar police station in-charge Ashok Singh had lodged the FIR against Abbas Ansari, the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA from Mau in Uttar Pradesh, on October 12, 2019.
According to the FIR, Abbas Ansari had obtained a gun licence from Lucknow and subsequently, got it transferred to Delhi where he purchased arms on a changed address, pretending to be a famous shooter.
