LLB Internship Programme 2024 Announced by Department of Legal Affairs: 50 Positions with Stipend, Apply by Dec 9

The Department of Legal Affairs, under the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, has launched its LLB Internship Programme for 2024, welcoming applications until December 9, 2024. This one-month internship aims to engage 50 aspiring lawyers, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the Indian legal framework.

The initiative targets law students and recent graduates, offering them exposure to the intricate workings of the Department of Legal Affairs. Interns will participate in various legal activities including research, court procedures, and providing legal advice across multiple domains such as constitutional law, financial law, and labour law, among others.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible candidates include those who have completed the second year of a three-year law program or the third year of a five-year course, as well as law graduates from recognized institutions. A proficiency in advanced computing skills like MS Office and Adobe is also desirable.

Application Process

Prospective interns are required to fill out an online application form and submit necessary documents, including a No Objection Certificate from their college or university for current students. Graduates need only provide their final year certificates.

Selection Procedure

The selection process promises to fill 50 positions each month, with candidates being shortlisted and notified via the Internship Portal or email.

Deployment and Certification

Selected interns will be stationed across various locations including the Main Secretariat in New Delhi and Branch Secretariats in Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Upon successful completion of the internship, which requires a 90% attendance rate and favorable evaluations, interns will receive a certificate of completion.

Stipend

Interns will receive a stipend of Rs. 1,000 upon the successful completion of their internship.
