The Karnataka High Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of a petition by former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa seeking to quash a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case registered against him. The court has postponed the matter for a week, effectively providing Yediyurappa with a temporary reprieve from arrest.
Yediyurappa, a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), faced legal challenges following allegations of sexual harassment involving a minor. A woman had filed a complaint with the police, accusing him of sexually harassing her 17-year-old daughter during a meeting intended to address some of their grievances.
Following the complaint, the police issued two notices to Yediyurappa, summoning him to appear before the investigating officer. His failure to comply led the police to seek an arrest warrant from a city court.

In response, Yediyurappa moved the High Court, asserting that the FIR lodged against him was baseless and requesting its quashing. As the legal proceedings continue, the High Court has temporarily restrained the police from taking any precipitative action against the former Chief Minister.
