Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad Marks Diwali with Children at Ranchi Observation Home, Calls for Hard Work, Self-Belief, and Discipline

Hon’ble Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad celebrated Diwali with the children of Ranchi Observation Home, inspiring them to move forward with hard work, discipline, and self-confidence.

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Hon’ble Justice Shri Sujit Narayan Prasad, Judge, Jharkhand High Court, visited Ranchi Observation Home, Dumardagga, and celebrated Diwali with the children residing there.

The program began with the lighting of lamps, followed by a painting and rangoli competition. The children conveyed positive messages to society through colors and creativity. Hon’ble Justice commended the children’s artistic talents and presented prizes to the winners.

Addressing the children, Hon’ble Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad said, “Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. This festival teaches us that no matter how difficult life may be, we must keep the light within us—knowledge, truth, and goodwill—burning.” He further said, “All of you children are the future of the country. No matter the circumstances, you must have faith in yourself. Through hard work, discipline, and education, you can advance in life. Success comes only to those who do not give up on their goals.”

The Honorable Justice also encouraged the children to utilize their time wisely, study regularly, and build their future with a positive mindset.

On this occasion, the Honorable Justice also conducted a detailed inspection of the observation home. He reviewed the residential, educational, health, food, recreational, and rehabilitation facilities and directed the officials to provide the children with quality education, nutritious food, and necessary psychological and counseling support.

The Judicial Commissioner, Ranchi, the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Ranchi, the City Superintendent of Police (City SP), officials from the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA) and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), representatives from the Social Welfare Department, and other staff were present at the event.

At the end of the program, the Honorable Justice distributed sweets to all the children and presented prizes and certificates to the participants.

This Diwali celebration with the children was incredibly warm, inspiring, and festive. The children’s joy and smiles filled the atmosphere with emotion and light.
