Judge Presiding Over Delhi Liquor Scam Case Transferred, Kaveri Baweja to Take Over

In a significant development in the Delhi liquor scam case, Special Judge MK Nagpal, who was hearing the matter, has been transferred. Judge Kaveri Baweja will now take over the proceedings of the case. The transfer moves Special Judge MK Nagpal to the Tis Hazari Court. This case has attracted significant attention due to the involvement of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leaders, with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) naming them as accused. Notably, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh are currently incarcerated in connection with this scandal.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, under scrutiny in the excise policy scam, has approached the Delhi High Court challenging the summons issued by the ED. The agency has issued a total of nine summons to Kejriwal so far. In his petition, Kejriwal has declared all the summons sent by the ED as illegal. The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the matter on Wednesday, March 20th.
