Jharkhand HC Issues Notice in PIL Seeking Insurance Coverage for Advocates

The Jharkhand High Court heard a petition in which advocates practising in the state sought life and health insurance coverage.

Meanwhile, the Central Government, the Government of Jharkhand, the Bar Council of India, and the Jharkhand State Bar Council have all received notices from the High Court.

The court has given everyone four weeks to file counter-affidavits.

The Division Bench of Chief Justice Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen heard the case.

The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for June 26.

Bidesh Kumar Dhan has filed a PIL in this regard. On behalf of the applicant, advocate Shadab Ansari appeared. On behalf of the Central Government, the Solicitor General (SGI) and his assistant Shivani Julka presented their case.

Advocate Piyush Chitresh represented the State Government, and Manoj Tandon represented the Jharkhand State Bar Council.
