Jail Before Conviction Is a Kind Punishment Because Of Abysmally Low Conviction Rate In Country: P&H HC

The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently observed that imprisoning the accused before conviction is kind of a punishment due to the abysmal conviction rate in the country. The Bench of Justice Jagmohan Bansal made this observation while quashing an order passed by the lower court wherein it cancelled the bail granted to the accused.
