High Court Judge Forgets Own Preaching; Contracts COVID with whole Family

A Judge from the Orissa High Court and his family members got infected with Covid after he forgot to practice what he preached and embarked on a pilgrimage with his family members, including his 90-year-old mother.

In one of his earlier orders as part of Bench, he had stated that the government should ensure that essential items were available so that people roaming on the road could be restricted.

However, after a year of passing the said order, the Judge went on a pilgrimage with his family members, and the first stop was Allahabad, where he submerged the ashes of his father at Sangam. from there, the Judge and his family and his family moved to Haridwar and participated in the Kumbh Mela. 

After that, the family went to Gaya, performed religious rituals there and then went to Puri. After some time, the family reached Cuttack, and unfortunately, the Judge and his family members tested positive for Covid.

Even though his family members recovered, the Judge’s mother passed away due to the deadly infection.
