Former TN Minister Senthil Balaji’s Remand Extended by City Court

A sessions court in Chennai extended the judicial custody of former Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji until July 30. The decision came as Balaji, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case, appeared via video-conferencing from Central Puzhal Prison.

Principal Sessions Judge S Alli presided over the proceedings, where the prosecution presented the case for extending Balaji’s remand. Balaji, associated with a cash-for-jobs scam during his tenure as the Transport Minister under the previous AIADMK government, was initially arrested on June 14 last year.
