The POCSO Court-02 in Bharatpur has acquitted Jitendra Singh Gulia, a former Anti-Corruption Court judge, of all charges in a high-profile abuse case. The verdict, delivered on Saturday, comes three years after the initial allegations were made.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed on October 31, 2021, when a mother accused Gulia of sexually abusing her 14-year-old son at a local tennis club. According to the original complaint, Gulia allegedly befriended the minor at the club, where both were regular players. The complaint detailed serious allegations involving drugged beverages and subsequent abuse, along with claims of threats and intimidation to maintain silence.
The mother’s complaint also alleged that several individuals, including law enforcement officials, visited her home to pressure her into withdrawing the accusations. She claimed her son had revealed the alleged incidents after remaining distressed for about a month.
Defense counsel Devendra Pal Singh presented a robust defense, bringing forward 46 witnesses and submitting 61 documents for examination. After a comprehensive review of all evidence, including critical court reports C1 and Articles 1 and 2, Judge Akhilesh Kumar found insufficient evidence to support the charges.
