Failing to Fulfil Promises Made During Elections is Not a Crime, Rules Allahabad HC in a Plea Seeking Action Against Amit Shah

In a significant order, the Allahabad High Court stated that no offence is made out against political parties for failing to fulfil lucrative promises made to the public during elections. According to the court, there is no legal provision in a party’s election manifesto prohibiting it from making lucrative promises and failing to fulfil them.
