Delhi Lawyers to Abstain From Work on Monday In Protest of Murder of an Advocate

New Delhi: A lawyer was shot dead by two unidentified bike-borne assailants in New Delhi’s Dwarka area on Saturday. The victim has been identified as Virender Kumar.

In protest of broad day light brutal murder of Adv Virender Narwal the Coordination Committee of All the District Bar Associations has decided to completely abstain from work on 03.04.2023, states a message circulated on Social Media by Sahil Puri (Advocate) Treasurer DBA, Tis Hazari Court

The incident happened at around 4:30 pm on Saturday in the Dwarka-1 area in Delhi, when the victim was travelling in a car.

The police said that the lawyer was also attacked before. Police are probing the matter from all angles.

According to the news agency ANI, advocate Virendra Kumar has been attacked in the past as well, so it is suspected that he was murdered due to mutual enmity. At present, the police has not given any reason for the murder but further investigation is going on.

At the same time, nothing has been said from Virendra’s family.
