Delhi High Court Round-Up for Wednesday

Important cases heard in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, January 31:

*HC reserved its order on a plea by arrested AAP MP Sanjay Singh seeking bail in a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy scam.

*HC said it wanted to “help” the city government fix the state of its hospitals and not get into “blame game” but correct facts with respect to the ground reality must be placed before it.

*HC sought the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) response on a plea by R K Arora, the chairman and promoter of realty major Supertech Group, challenging an order denying him bail in a money laundering case.

*HC imposed a costs of Rs 50,000 on the Delhi government for not filing reply, despite repeated directions, to a petition seeking adequate IFS officers and deployment of CAPF to protect forests in the national capital.

*HC asked the Railways to provide free of charge human assistance to visually impaired persons at major stations in the country.

*HC pulled up MCD officials for failing to act against certain illegal and unauthorized construction in Chandani Mahal area.
