The Delhi High Court has established a designated fast-track tribunal to preside over criminal cases involving examination paper leaks and illegal practices during public tests. Judicial Officer Anu Grover Baliga has been appointed to head the bench, which takes immediate effect to hear cases registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, along with related offences.
Operational Venue and Legal Mandate
According to an official notification issued by the high court administration, the specialized court will function out of the Rouse Avenue Court Complex. The designated bench will handle trial proceedings for offenses concerning paper leaks and fraudulent conduct in public competitive examinations.
Executive Directives and Student Protests
The judicial notification follows an announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the establishment of fast-track courts designed to ensure rapid legal action and stringent punishment for individuals involved in paper leak syndicates. The decision comes against the backdrop of ongoing demonstrations by students protesting against reported irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Reiterating the government’s stance, the Prime Minister stated that safeguarding the interests and welfare of the nation’s youth is a primary focus for the administration. He warned that those who attempt to compromise the future of students will face strict consequences, confirming that directives have been issued to relevant authorities and department officials to execute all required steps to address paper leaks.
