Delhi Chief Minister Appeals to Supreme Court Following Bail Stay in Excise Policy Case

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken his battle to the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court placed an interim stay on his bail concerning the Delhi liquor policy case. The decision was made by Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain of the Delhi High Court’s Vacation Bench on Friday, which paused the earlier bail granted by a trial court. The High Court has reserved its judgment on the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) appeal and is expected to issue a ruling on Tuesday, June 25.

This development led Kejriwal, also the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor, to urgently approach the Supreme Court on Sunday. His legal team plans to request a quick listing and hearing from a vacation bench on Monday, June 24.
