The Madras High Court, on Friday, stated that the curse of the caste-based system is still preventing the cremation/burial for people of certain sections and this is more prevalent in rural areas. Justice Anand Venkatesh remarked that it is unfortunate that the caste identity attaches itself to the person till the time they are cremated/buried.
