Court Issues Non-Bailable Warrant Against Actress Jayaprada for Non-Appearance in Defamation Case

In the ongoing defamation case, actress and former MP from Rampur, Jayaprada, failed to appear in court on Wednesday to record her statement. The court has issued a non-bailable warrant against her and rescheduled the hearing for January 13. The case has been ongoing since the aftermath of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

During a felicitation ceremony held at the Muslim Degree College in Katghar area post the election results, former MP from Rampur Azam Khan, Moradabad’s SP MP Dr. S.T. Hasan, and other SP leaders were present. It is alleged that during the event, derogatory remarks were made against Jayaprada.

The case was filed by Rampur resident Mustafa Husain against Azam Khan, Dr. S.T. Hasan, Abdullah Azam, Firoz Khan, event organizer Mohammad Arif, and former Rampur chairman Azhar Khan.

The case is being heard in the court of Magistrate M.P. Singh. Special public prosecutor Mohanlal Vishnoi informed that Jayaprada was supposed to appear in court on Wednesday to record her statement but failed to do so. Consequently, the court issued another non-bailable warrant against her. The next hearing of the case is now scheduled for January 13.
