Consumer complaints against the common carrier will not be maintainable without serving a prior notice: Apex Court

The Supreme Court has observed that a consumer complaint against a common carrier was not maintainable if prior notice u/s 6 of the Carriers Act was not served. A Bench of Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice AS Bopanna observed that notice was required to be served before initiation of proceedings and not the proceeding itself.
