Chief Justice of India Bhushan Gavai on Sunday paid an emotional visit to his alma mater, Chikitsak Samuh Shirodkar School in Mumbai, where he credited his Marathi-medium education for laying the foundation of his values and success in life.
During his visit, the CJI interacted with old classmates and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teachers who shaped his formative years. “Whatever position I have reached today, my teachers and this school have played a significant role in it,” he said.
Reflecting on his schooling, the Chief Justice remarked that studying in one’s mother tongue aids in deeper conceptual understanding and instils values that last a lifetime. “My journey in public speaking began on this very stage,” he recalled, attributing his confidence to speech competitions and cultural events he participated in during his school days.

He toured the classrooms, library, and art section, reliving cherished memories and receiving a touching tribute from current students, which, as per an official release, left him both proud and emotional.
